M.Sc. Tar Tar Moe Htet receives the 2nd František Švec Award

February 9th, 2026

On February 4th, M.Sc. Tar Tar Moe Htet received the 2nd František Švec Award for Analytical Chemistry for the work entitled "Online Bead Injection Coupled to Sequential Injection Chromatography for Liposomes Analysis in Biomimetic Tests" in the 16th postgraduate conference  at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University in Hradec Králové (FAF-CUNI).

In this contribution, M.Sc. Moe Htet uses the C5-2359EUTA-CU valve, manufactured from VICI AG International for performing heartcutless bead injection applied to the analysis of liposomes. The collaboration between the FAF-CUNI and the institute of Analytical Chemistry in BOKU University started officially with the mobility project  (WTZ CZ14 / 2024 Výzva 8J24AT- Universal sample preparation for food commodities by hyphenating modern flow concepts). The paper is in preparation and will be submitted soon.

It is important to keep in mind that the unorthodox fluidic path of this valve was designed to allow multiple sample preparation operations in a minimal footprint, specially simultaneous Solid-Liquid Extraction and Solid Phase extractin (SPE). It’s first use is described in the article "Versatile injector for inline renewable solid-phase extraction: Application to cyclodextrin-based bioaccessibility assessment in environmental solids", published in Analytical Chemistry on November 2024. That time the valve was applied to an ecomimetic test, namely the mimicry of biodegradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons by Pseudomonas in incurred soils by the hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin assay.
